At a company event in Tokyo, Access announces a number of new initiatives for their Access Linux Platform. Firstly there is Access Linux Platform version 3, then Access Linux Platform Mini which targets low end smartphones and feature phones.CEO, and president and co-founder of ACCESS, Toru Arakawa, “With the introduction of ACCESS Linux Platform mini and the enhanced capabilities of our LiMo-compliant ACCESS Linux Platform v3.0, we can offer our customers a complete range of solutions extending from feature phones through low-end smartphones, to high-end smartphones and Internet devices that will further enable the next generation of mobile Internet use.”
Access claim, Access Linux Platform Mini is more for the stringent and performance requirements of mobile and internet devices in emerging markets. The word is the ALP subset has evolved from the China MobileSoft Linux stack which was acquired by PalmSource in 2004.
