“The thing’s going to crest a half billion soon,” Jobs said. “I’ve never seen anything like this in my career for software.”
He went on to state that phone differentiation is no longer about “radios and antennas” - now its about software.
Jobs also confirmed that Apple has a “kill switch” on applications should they ever accidentally release a malicious app, stating that it would be “irresponsible” of them not to have such a think. He also stated that he hopes they never has to use such a thing.
Would be developers must be frothing at the mouth at this news (I know I am), because it is a remarkable number, and truly shows an acceptance not only for apps on the iPhone, but for PAYING for Apps on the iPhone. This is a clear indication that people are willing to pay for a variety of digital applications and digital content.
