Rumour: Apple iPhone Pwnage Tool blocked by new MacBooks?

Rumour: Apple iPhone Pwnage Tool blocked by new MacBooks?Obviously every time Apple pushes out a new firmware update for the Apple iPhone and Apple iPod Touch, it includes stuff to seal the exploits used by the iPhone Dev Team in their attempts to Pwn the iPhone and iPod Touch.

There are unconfirmed reports going round that there is a problem running the Pwnage Tool on the new Apple MacBooks, and that they don’t seem to be able to recognise an Apple iPhone or iPod Touch when booted into DFU mode, which is a vital for jailbreaking.

The Pwnage Tool still runs on the MacBooks and those that have a pre-modified fiemware created on a different Mac or Windows machine can restore the iPhone and iPod Touch to a jailbroken state, but it appears that the creation of modified firmware, which is the main reason for the Pwwnage Tool has been stopped.

Verizon Palm Centro Phone gets ROM update

Verizon Palm Centro Phone gets ROM updateNot too much to rush home and panic about but the Verizon Wireless Palm Centro has just been given a minute itsy-bitsy ROM update; the v1.03 ROM update has been named “a minor tune-up which may improve device usability in certain situations.”

Not avoiding making everything perfectly clear there then. That description must be the vaguest information concerning an update that anyone could possible give out, but it’s a dead cert that Verizon Wireless Palm Centro owners will be hitting it up as soon as possible.

The Verizon Wireless Palm Centro v1.03 ROM update is available to be installed as of now through SD card or Hotsync, and obviously, as always please back up all your data just in case the little update turns into a major disaster.

Video: Can the iPhone really solve lifes dilemmas?

Video: Can the iPhone really solve lifes dilemmas? Now here is handy little advert advertising the Apple iPhone and the Apple iTunes App Store by way of the Urbanspoon app for iPhone, and uses the everyday age old “Dilemma” of “’Where should we eat tonight?’

This video shows just how the Urbanspoon application works and is available from the Apple App Store, and quotes the saying…”That’s the iPhone, solving life’s dilemmas one app at a time.”

Well, yes and no, the Apple iPhone and its many applications can sort of solve the little dilemmas of life such as locating somewhere to eat out, but to claim “That’s the iPhone, solving life’s dilemmas one app at a time.” Is going just a tad too far, and I could see that phrase possibly causing some problems when someone complains that the Apple iPhone came sort out my marital dilemmas.

Nokia E71 pairs with Stowaway Sierra Bluetooth keyboard easily

Nokia E71 pairs with Stowaway Sierra Bluetooth keyboard easilyWhen connecting the Stowaway Sierra Bluetooth keyboard to the Nokia E71 the pairing goes exceptionally well just as the Nokia N93 does, but the difference is that the Nokia E71 responds much quicker because of a newer version of Symbian operating system and S60.

This is because it runs Symbian OS 9.2 with S60 3.1 feature pack one rather than the Nokia N93’s Symbian OS 9.1 along with S60 3.0. The Nokia E71’s keyboard is easy to use and having the use of a full size keyboard is so much better.

So the pairing of full size keyboard and mobile phone is a most smooth operation, but does make one wish for a bigger screen on the Nokia E71, but maybe Nokia will come up with a separate internet tablet for that purpose eventually.
